It’s good to be back racing after a fifteen month lay off. It was the 150th time USAC Midgets raced at Ventura Raceway and like always the Main Event was extremely exciting.

Ventura Raceway concluded its regular 2019 racing season Saturday night October 26. A full night of racing action kept the fans in attendance excited as the racers battled to see who would take track championships in two VRA divisions, the WMR Midgets and California Lightning Sprints. Headlining the night's event was the fast and furious USAC Midgets.
Results 9-7-2019
Saturday night, September 7th, saw a small field of cars and motorcycles take to Ventura's 1/5 mile oval. Racing in three motorcycle classes and two car classes drivers went all out to go for the wins in their respective classes.
The California Lightning Sprints headlined the program with 12 cars in attendance. They ran two heat races with wins going to Dominic Del Monte in heat one and Jon Robertson in heat two. They then ran a special format for their feature event. They ran twin fifteen lap main events. The first was run to set the field for the final fifteen lap feature. Dominic Del Monte won the first fifteen lap race and pulled a six invert for the final fifteen lap race. The final fifteen lap race went to Jarrett Kramer over Cody Nigh, A J Bender, Aiden Lange and Doug Nunes. Kramer's win was his fifth of the six Lightning Sprint races held at Ventura so far this season. Cody Nigh has the only other win here this year.

Ventura Raceway resumed its 2019 season after a month long break for the Ventura County Fair on a cool night with the running of the third USAC/VRA ARP Battle at the Beach race for 360 Sprint Cars, Saturday night August 24th. Five classes classes were on hand to put on an exciting night of racing for the fans in attendance.

Ventura Raceway was in action Saturday night July 6th, with a race program featuring VRA Sprints, VRA Senior Sprints, WMR/Focus Midgets, Hobby Stocks and Lightning Sprints.
Once again a small field of VRA Sprints and Senior Sprints had the two classes combined for their 20 lap Main event. Five cars were signed in to each class for the night's action. The race was a hard fought battle in each of the two classes with Chris Meredith taking the Senior win over Wally Pankratz, Mike Cook, Mike English and Mark Sheppard. In the VRA Sprint portion of the event, Jeff Fillingame took his first ever win over Rick Hendrix, Brent Owens, Gage Rucker and Geoffrey Strole. The event was a strange one with Strole flipping on the warm up lap and Fillingame flipping at the checkered flag as he crossed the finish line. Fillingame emerged from his damaged racer to do his winners interview, expressing his joy in winning his first sprint car race ever. Heat race wins in these two classes went to Geoffrey Strole in Sprints and Wally Pankratz in Senior Sprints.

Ventura Raceway held a very special event Saturday night May 4. The USAC/CRA 410 Sprint Car Series made their one and only appearance at Ventura for the 2019 season. These high powered cars and drivers always put on a great night of racing action for fans in attendance. Four other classes, VRA Senior Sprints, California Lightning Sprints, Focus Midgets and WMR Midgets were on hand to put on an exciting night of racing.

Ventura Raceway continued its new 2019 season on a cool overcast night with the running of the first USAC/VRA ARP Battle at the Beach race for 360 Sprint Cars, Saturday night March 23rd. Four classes were on hand to put on an exciting night of racing for the fans in attendance.

The 2018 Ventura County Fair Motorsports event was run in front of a full house on Wednesday, evening August 1st. The fans in attendance witnessed exciting racing and a few crashes throughout the evening.
