It’s good to be back racing after a fifteen month lay off. It was the 150th time USAC Midgets raced at Ventura Raceway and like always the Main Event was extremely exciting. Ben Worth and Brody Fuson diced for the lead for most of the main with Ben Worth taking the win. Following Ben was Robby Josett in second and Shannon McQueen in third. Remember, the 80th running of the Agajanian Presents Turkey Night Grand Prix for USAC Midgets will be held on Saturday Night November 27, 2021. Tickets will go on sale on eventbrite the first part of July.
California Lightning Sprints showed up with 18 winged race cars, some of the fastest to circle the one fifth mile track. A.J. Bender lead every lap and was followed by Jeff Dyer and James Turnbull. This makes it two in a row for Bender as he won the last time CLS raced at Ventura in 2019.
The west coasts fastest growing racing organization, Western Midget Racing midgets, brought 17 race cars. Blake Bower lead all the laps of the feature to take the win, with David Prickett and Randi Pankratz in tow.
The NMRA T.Q. Midgets saw Scott Niven hold off Chris Thomas for the Feature win. Chuck West finished third followed by West Evans and Bruce Hiroshima.
The Hobby Stocks had about the craziest Main ever. Ryan Changus lead the first 11 laps then Mark Heurung lead lap 12 with Ryan taking over on lap 13 through 16. Wayne powered his way back to the front on lap17 with Ryan leading to the checkered flag. These two drivers gave their all every lap to the end.
