First we would like to thank all the fans that braved the Tacos and Tequila crowd to attend the races last weekend. We saw some new faces in the winner's circle along with all the regulars. Riley Rogers, who is only 14 years old, made her racing career start last Saturday night in her number 66 IMCA Sport Compact. This class could be one of our fastest growing classes.

Saturday July 10th was a night of four-peats or was it? Trevor Fitzgibbon IMCA Modified racer and Jason Horton VRA Dwarf Car driver and reigning Champion were both looking to win their fourth Main in a row. With 15 cars in each division it would become a long night for both Trevor and Jason. Trevor Fitzgibbon started fifth in his heat race and finished second to Troy Morris III. When the IMCA Main came around Trevor found himself starting eleventh and Troy was starting on the pole. Trevor drove so hard you could hear his engine hit the rev limiter on every lap, but at the end of 30 laps Trevor came up one position short, with Troy Morris III leading every lap for the IMCA Feature win.

First we must thank all the great spectators and the fabulous racers who turned out Saturday night June 26th. We were treated to some of the most exciting racing that we have seen in years. We had 23 West Coast Sprint Cars in the pits headed by current points leader D.J. Johnson, Mr. Excitement Troy Rutherford, Austin Liggett, USAC-CRA regular Broady Roa and a host of terriffic sprint car drivers.

MASSIVE TURKEY NIGHT MIDGET ENTRY LIST AWAITS VENTURA

Ventura, California (November 13, 2019).........As it stands now, the entry list for the 79th running of the Turkey Night Grand Prix is stacked to the gills with the number of cars, drivers and the amount of talent that will be on display for the prestigious event on Thanksgiving Night, November 28, at California's Ventura Raceway.

As we move into the final round of the 2019 season on October 26, the race on Saturday October 19, set up the season finale for many of the competitors still battling for the season championship in their respective classes. Still to be determined are the championships in the VRA Dwarf Cars and WMR Midgets at Ventura. Saturday night October 19, did determine the champions in the VRA Hobby Stocks and VRA Senior Sprints. The night also saw two makeup races for Hobby Stocks and Senior Sprints from the October 5, event that had the power outage ending the night's racing.

By: Richie Murray – USAC Media Ventura, California (October 3, 2019)………USAC West Coast Midget racing legends Sleepy Tripp and Gary Zarounian have been named as co-grand marshals for the 79th running of the Turkey Night Grand Prix on Thanksgiving Night, November 28, at California’s Ventura Raceway. Tripp, of Costa Mesa, Calif., scored more USAC Midget victories (total National and Regional) than anyone in history. His total of 161 lists him third on the all-time USAC list behind Rich Vogler (171) and A.J. Foyt (162). The 1986 inductee into the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame won a pair of USAC National Midget titles (1975 and 1976) and seven championships in USAC’s Western Midget Series.

On a cool, breezy evening, the drivers in five car classes were on hand to continue the season long point battle in each class. Fans in attendance saw exciting racing in every class that competed Saturday night. VRA Sprint Cars had a small field of five cars Saturday night. 2019 series champ Rick Hendrix took their one heat race. Senior Greg Andrews won their one heat race. The main events for the two classes were combined with the regulars starting out front. A 25 lap main event then ran with the wins going to Trent Williams over Rick Hendrix, Brent Owens, Nick Diani and James Herrera in the regular VRA Sprints and Chris Meredith over Tyler Hatziakian, Greg Andrews and Wally Pankratz in Senior Sprints. Chris Meredith now lead Wally Pankratz by 20 points in Seniors after twelve races.

Saturday night September 21, saw an evening of exciting open wheel and stock car racing along with a fifteen car Demolition Derby. A full house of racing and derby fans saw drivers in the four car classes on hand continue the season long point battle in each class. Fans in attendance also witnessed exciting Demolition Derby action with a full field of fifteen cars crashing and bashing on the raceways clay oval.
