Jake Hodges won his second VRA Sprint Car Feature this season and moved into third place in 2021 points.
Wally Pankratz wins the VRA Senior Sprint Car Main.
Trevor Fitzgibbon wins the IMCA Modified Main. This makes it four out of five for the season.
Blake Bower over powers the competition and wins another WMR Midget Feature.
Bill Vint Jr. wins the very entertaining IMCA Sport Compact Main.
Zack Murray wins the 125cc and under Motorcycle Main.
Steffen Langstrup wins the 100cc-150cc Motorcycle Main.
Zane Frisk wins the 250-450 Motocross Mororcycle Main.
First we would like to thank all the fans that braved the Tacos and Tequila crowd to attend the races last weekend. We saw some new faces in the winner’s circle along with all the regulars. Riley Rogers, who is only 14 years old, made her racing career start last Saturday night in her number 66 IMCA Sport Compact. This class could be one of our fastest growing classes.
Jake Hodges took the lead at the green flag of the VRA Sprint Car Main event and never looked back for win number two of this season. Travis Buckley won his heat race and looked like the guy that could race Jake for thefeature win, but a first lap crash put him a lap down with that no chance for the victory.
Wally Pankratz started the 30 lap main from the third spot and raced to the lead for another win followed by Chris Meredith. The past few years have seen these two battle all year long for wins and the championship and currently Wally has a 35 point lead over Chris.
Current IMCA Modified points leader Trevor Fitzgibbon won heat race number one and his fourth Main of the season at Ventura Raceway. Larry Wise won the second heat race and was set to take on Trevor for the Main event, but after an altercation early on with the turn four wall he could only nurse his messed up car to third. Trevor and the IMCA Modifieds will be added to this weeks show, so there could be one wild Main event this Saturday.
David Prickett couldn’t make the trip down to Ventura Raceway due to dog issues. Blake Bower took advantage of his absence and stormed away from Randi Pankratz, who ran second, and won the WMR Midget Main. D.J. Freitas led time trials over Bower and 2019 Ventura WMR champion Randi Pankratz of Atascadero. Pankratz and Travis Buckley of New Zealand split the heat races.
There were only three IMCA Sport Compacts in the pits. Eric Moore who won the heat race and Bill Vint Jr. raced the whole Main and traded lead four times with Bill taking the checkers. Riley Rogers made her racing debut finishing third after kissing the front straight wall.
All the motorcyclists showed up to honor Howdy Grabau’s passing. Howdy was a great supporter of motorcycle racing at Ventura and will be greatly missed. Zac Murray still has the 125cc and under class in control by winning another Main. Steffen Langstrup held off David Toepel and Zac Murray to win the 100cc-150cc Main event. Zane Frisk of Oakview took the honors in the 250-450 Motocross Flat Track Feature.
VRA Sprint Cars, Senior Sprints, IMCA Sport Compacts, Hobby Stocks, IMCA Mod Lites and our first Demolition Derby of the year are on the card for this weekend.
