Ventura Raceway returned to car racing after two weeks of motorcycle racing and a weekend off for the Fourth of July holiday. Saturday night, July 9, saw the season continue with a great night of exciting short track racing. Despite smaller than usual car counts, in some classes, competition was very close and hard fought from top to bottom in each event.

JANNIRO WINS AMA NATIONAL SPEEDWAY ROUND 2 Billy Janniro was once more the victor in Round 2 of the AMA National Speedway Series at Ventura, CA on June 25th, but the rising pool of young emerging stars pushed him to his limit.

Ventura Raceway's Flat Track/Speedway season continued Saturday night June 18, with a full program of motorcycle racing, featuring exciting flat track and speedway racing. With a field of over 100 riders signed into the pits, the fans in attendance saw some exciting motorcycle racing on a beautiful evening.

Saturday night June 4, saw a great night of short track racing, as Ventura Raceway continued its 2016 season. With the first 2016 Battle at the Beach highlighting the night, race fans were there to see who would take the first win in this series within a series that will crown the King of the Beach in November.

The USAC Midgets returned to Ventura Raceway Saturday night May 21, and quite a show it was! Twenty-eight of these high speed machines raced around Ventura's 1/5 mile clay oval in front of a crowd who showed their appreciation for their return.

Ventura Raceway returned to its regular racing schedule Saturday night May 14, with a full program of racing featuring VRA Sprints, VRA Dwarf Cars, IMCA Modifieds and the winged California Lightning Sprints. Competition was hard fought and very competitive, with a smaller than normal car counts in Sprints and Modifieds.

Saturday night May 7, saw a great night of short track racing, as Ventura Raceway held a very special event with USAC/CRA Sprint 410 Sprint Cars headlining the show. VRA Seniors Sprints and Focus Midgets were also there to complete a full night of exciting racing action.

Saturday night April 30 saw a great night of short track racing as Ventura Raceway continued its 2016 season. Competition in every class was very close and hard fought in each heat race, semi main and main event. In VRA Sprints, 17 cars signed into the pits for their fourth race of the season. It was a night that saw visiting drivers take the honors in the main event. Brody Roa took the 30 lap feature over Jake Swanson, Luke Boles, Cody Majors and past VRA champ Kyle Smith. Roa and Swanson will be here next week on USAC CRA 410 sprint cars. Cody Majors led from the start to lap 19 when Roa did a perfect slide job to get the lead and go on to the win. A big crash on the opening lap brought out the red flag and took out several cars including 2015 champ Guy Woodward, Tyler Williams, Jesse Brown, Mikey Lovas and Charlie Butcher. Heat race wins went to Jeremy Ellertson in heat one and Mikey Lovas in heat two and Rick Hendrix in heat three. Hendrix now is leading in the point race by 80 points over Guy Woodward and 135 points over Jeremy Ellertson after four races.
