/in Cal Lightning Sprints, Hobby Stocks, IMCA Modifieds, NMRA TQ Midgets, Sprint CarsVentura Raceway resumed its 2019 season after a month long break for the Ventura County Fair on a cool night with the running of the third USAC/VRA ARP Battle at the Beach race for 360 Sprint Cars, Saturday night August 24th. Five classes classes were on hand to put on an exciting night of racing for the fans in attendance.

/in Dwarf Cars, Hobby Stocks, IMCA Modifieds, Sprint CarsSaturday night July 13, saw an evening of exciting open wheel and stock car racing along with a Demolition Derby as Ventura Raceway held its salute to the 2019 Ventura County Fair. A full house of racing and derby fans saw drivers in four car classes on hand to continue the season long point battle in each class. Fans in attendance also witnessed exciting Demolition Derby action with a full field of cars crashing and bashing on the raceways clay oval.

/in Cal Lightning Sprints, Focus, Hobby Stocks, Midgets, Senior Sprints, Sprint Cars, UncategorizedVentura Raceway was in action Saturday night July 6th, with a race program featuring VRA Sprints, VRA Senior Sprints, WMR/Focus Midgets, Hobby Stocks and Lightning Sprints.
Once again a small field of VRA Sprints and Senior Sprints had the two classes combined for their 20 lap Main event. Five cars were signed in to each class for the night’s action. The race was a hard fought battle in each of the two classes with Chris Meredith taking the Senior win over Wally Pankratz, Mike Cook, Mike English and Mark Sheppard. In the VRA Sprint portion of the event, Jeff Fillingame took his first ever win over Rick Hendrix, Brent Owens, Gage Rucker and Geoffrey Strole. The event was a strange one with Strole flipping on the warm up lap and Fillingame flipping at the checkered flag as he crossed the finish line. Fillingame emerged from his damaged racer to do his winners interview, expressing his joy in winning his first sprint car race ever. Heat race wins in these two classes went to Geoffrey Strole in Sprints and Wally Pankratz in Senior Sprints.

/in Dwarf Cars, Hobby Stocks, IMCA Modifieds, Senior Sprints, Sprint CarsSaturday night, June 29th, saw an evening of exciting open wheel and stock car racing at Ventura Raceway. The drivers in five car classes were on hand to continue the season long point battle in each class.
VRA Sprint Cars had a small car count of five cars. Rick Hendrix took the 30 lap feature over Kyle Smith,Tyler Edwards, Wally Pankratz and Tom Hendricks. They ran one heat with the win being taken by Kyle Smith. The small car count in Senior Sprints as well, caused them to run as a part of the Sprint car main. Scored separately, the Senior win went to Wally Pankrratz over Chris Meredith, Russell Martin and Paul Mirick. Mirick had a very hard crash on lap one, when Charlie Butcher and Mirick came into contact on the front straight with Mirick flipping wildly down the front straight. The Seniors did run their own heat race with the win doing to Chris Meredith.

/in Dwarf Cars, Focus, IMCA Modifieds, Midgets, Senior SprintsThe USAC Midgets made their first appearance at Ventura Raceway Saturday night June 22nd. Along with four other VRA and IMCA Classes the fans in attendance were treated to some of the best main event racing in recent history.
