Saturday night October 22, saw a another exciting, action filled, night of short track racing at Ventura Raceway as four of the five classes running closed out their regular season. Competition was very close and hard fought throughout the night's events.

Saturday night, October 15, was a night of special events in two of the five classes run. IMCA Modifieds ran a special $800 to win race and the Senior Dwarf Car drivers ran a memorial race in memory of George Calvo. Also running Saturday night were the VRA Hobby Stocks, Focus Midgets and the popular California Lightning Sprints.

Saturday night, September 10, saw some exciting short track racing at Ventura Raceway. With the season winding down, competition in every class has become very close and hard fought throughout the night's events, as drivers battle to try to move up in the season long point race battles. There are only 4 race nights left in the 2016 season.

Saturday night, August 27th, saw another good night of racing as our 2016 season returned to action following the 2016 FAIR break. Fast, exciting racing was the norm for the entire program that featured five adult classes.

Saturday night July 16, saw a great night of short track racing, at Ventura Raceway. With the second 2016 ARP Battle at the Beach race highlighting the night, race fans were there to see who would take the next win in this series within a series that will crown the King of the Beach in November.

Ventura Raceway was in action Saturday night June 11, as it continued its 2016 racing season, with a great night of exciting short track racing. Despite smaller than usual car counts, in some classes, competition was very close and hard fought from top to bottom in each event.

The USAC Midgets returned to Ventura Raceway Saturday night May 21, and quite a show it was! Twenty-eight of these high speed machines raced around Ventura's 1/5 mile clay oval in front of a crowd who showed their appreciation for their return.

Saturday night April 30 saw a great night of short track racing as Ventura Raceway continued its 2016 season. Competition in every class was very close and hard fought in each heat race, semi main and main event. In VRA Sprints, 17 cars signed into the pits for their fourth race of the season. It was a night that saw visiting drivers take the honors in the main event. Brody Roa took the 30 lap feature over Jake Swanson, Luke Boles, Cody Majors and past VRA champ Kyle Smith. Roa and Swanson will be here next week on USAC CRA 410 sprint cars. Cody Majors led from the start to lap 19 when Roa did a perfect slide job to get the lead and go on to the win. A big crash on the opening lap brought out the red flag and took out several cars including 2015 champ Guy Woodward, Tyler Williams, Jesse Brown, Mikey Lovas and Charlie Butcher. Heat race wins went to Jeremy Ellertson in heat one and Mikey Lovas in heat two and Rick Hendrix in heat three. Hendrix now is leading in the point race by 80 points over Guy Woodward and 135 points over Jeremy Ellertson after four races.

Ventura Raceway continued its 2016 car racing season with a great night of exciting short track racing. Competition was very close and hard fought from top to bottom in each class from the opening heat races to the final man events.
