After over a month of delays due to weather and Fairgrounds activities, Ventura Raceway finally was able to begin its 2018 racing season. The delay in opening was worth the wait as six divisions put on a night of outstanding racing action for the good crowd in attendance. On a beautiful spring night, the drivers began their quest for points that will lead to series championships when the season ends in October.

Fans at Ventura Raceway were witness to some very exciting racing action Saturday night, October 21st, with a full program of racing that featured the fourth and final HAAS Automation VRA Dwarf Car Silver Cup Race of 2017. The night also saw action in VRA Sprints, a special Greg and Maureen Kauffman Memorial VRA Hobby Stock race and a special IMCA Modified race.

Saturday night September 16, saw the return of the Light Up the World Beverages USAC Midgets to Ventura Raceway for their second visit of the season. Also on the card were the VRA Dwarf Cars, IMCA Modifieds and Focus Midgets. Racing was hard fought throughout the field in each class that competed Saturday night.

Saturday night September 2, saw the running of the third race in the 2017 ARP Battle at the Beach Series within a series at Ventura Raceway. VRA 360 Sprint Cars and visiting USAC Western 360 Series Sprint Cars battled for the win in the third of four ARP Battle at the Beach Races of 2017. Also racing that night were the VRA Dwarf Cars, California Lightning Sprints, IMCA Modifieds and Hobby Stocks.

Ventura Raceway continued its racing season Saturday night August 26, with five classes of racing action. Competition was very close and hard fought throughout the field of cars in each class. In VRA 360 Sprints, 7 cars signed into the pits for the first VRA Sprint Car event for them since July 15. The win in their 20 lap feature went to Kyle Smith over Kenny Perkins, Ryan Stolz, Charlie Butcher and Reed Broschart. The VRA Sprints ran one heat race with the win going to Kenny Perkins. After six nights of competition in 2017, past champion Kyle Smith leads Kenny Perkins by 235 points.

The 2017 Ventura County Fair Motor Sports Event was run in front of a full house on August 2nd. The fans in attendance witnessed some close, hard fought racing from the opening heats to the final Main Events and Demolition Derby. With over 70 cars in the pits, drivers were all going for the win in each competing class.

Ventura Raceway continued its racing season Saturday night July 15, with six classes of racing action. Competition was very close and hard fought throughout the field of cars in each class. In VRA 360 Sprints, 11 cars signed into the pits for the first VRA only event for them since May 20. The win in their 30 lap feature went to Kyle Smith over, Kenny Perkins, Guy Woodward, Charlie Butcher and Kyle Edwards. The VRA Sprints ran two heat races with wins going to Kyle Smith in heat one and Kenny Perkins in heat two. After five nights of competition in 2017, past champion Kyle Smith leads Charlie Butcher by 240 points.

Saturday night, June 3, saw the largest car count of the season at Ventura Raceway as the USAC Western 360 Series, in conjunction with VRA 360 Sprint Cars, ran the first of four ARP Battle at the Beach Races of 2017. Also racing that night were the IMCA Modifieds, California Lightning Sprints and the USAC 600s racing in restricted and non-wing divisions.
